邵東方SHAO Dongfang
江蘇省南通市人，成長於北京市。美國夏威夷大學(UHM)歷史學博士，聖荷西州立大學（SJSU）圖書館學暨資訊學碩士，北京師範大學歷史學碩士、學士。先後任教於北京師範大學、新加坡國立大學、佛光大學和史丹佛大學（Stanford University）。現擔任史丹佛大學東亞圖書館館長，並任北京師範大學與北京交通大學兼職教授、雲南省圖書館顧問。史丹佛大學東亞圖書館收藏有關東亞研究的中日韓文和西方語言的大量圖書與檔案文獻，是國際著名的東亞圖書館之一。
作者長期從事中國思想學術史、古典學和文獻學的研究，已出版和主編多部學術專著及發表中英文學術論文數十篇。
